WBJEE Dress Code for Male & Female: Exam Guidelines

WBJEE is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. WBJEE opens doors for entrance into undergraduate courses like technology, Architecture, and pharmacy. The exam will be conducted on April 27th, 2025, candidates preparing for the exam have to go through a long and hectic preparation schedule. While it is important to prepare for the exam, it is also important to know the exam day guidelines and dress code for the exam. 

Although there is no official dress code for the WBJEE, adhering to the recommended attire is crucial. It ensures a smooth entry into the examination hall and minimizes distractions or complications during security checks. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the WBJEE dress code for both male and female candidates, along with guidelines to facilitate a seamless examination experience.

Dress Code for Male Candidates

To ensure a smooth examination process and avoid wasting time during security checks, it is advised to maintain a simple attire while going to the exam. Keep the following things in mind while appearing for the exam:

• Upper Wear: Wear Plain T-shirts/Shirts without any graphic designs or heavy-looking images. Try not to wear hooded T-shirts or shirts with large buttons, as these can complicate the frisking process and can lead to time leakages.

• Lower Wear: Simple trousers or pants will help you feel comfortable. Avoid cargo pants or pants with multiple pockets, as this can raise security concerns.

• Accessories: Metallic items are not allowed inside the examination hall. Avoid wearing any additional accessories like jewelry, bracelets, rings, etc. 

• Footwear: Wear lightweight shoes or sandals. Avoid footwear with thick soles, as they may be subject to additional checking.

Dress Code for Female Candidates

Females are advised to wear simple casuals like kurtas, shirts, or T-shirts to ensure comfort and avoid multiple security checks.

Here’s a dress code you can follow to appear for the exam:

• Upper wear: Plain kurtas, shirts, or T-shirts are preferable, and make sure to avoid wearing heavy embroidery, multiple layers, or frill dresses to get rid of multiple security checks. Avoid wearing clothes containing metal, such as belts, underwired bras, etc.

• Lower Wear: Prefer wearing comfortable pants like leggings. Avoid wearing cargo pants or pants with multiple pockets. 

• Accessories: Keep a simple hairstyle and avoid accessories like clips. Avoid wearing jewelry like bracelets, rings, necklaces, etc. 

• Footwear: Choose simple chappals or sandals. Avoid wearing heels, boots, or any footwear that might lead to unnecessary attention or cause discomfort during the examination.

Guidelines for the WBJEE Exam 2025

Candidates are advised to stick to the following guidelines to avoid discrepancies and ensure a smooth examination experience: 

• Arrive on Time: Arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam commences, this can help you complete security checks and other formalities without rushing.

• Documents: Carry the set of required documents, which include an admit card, passport-sized photograph, photo identity card such as aadhar/PAN/voter ID, etc.

• Frisking Procedure: Be prepared to undergo mandatory frisking before entering the examination hall. Cooperate with the security personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

• Seating arrangement: Settle in your designated seat after entering the examination hall. Stay calm and wait for the invigilator’s instructions.
• Follow Instructions: Pay close attention to all instructions provided by the invigilators and those printed on the question paper and answer sheet.
