KCET 2024 Medical Examination Postponed for Physically Disabled Candidates

The KCET 2024 Medical Examination for Physically Disabled Candidates is scheduled to be conducted on 25.04.2024 and 26.04.2024 is postponed because of Loksabha General Elections. The fresh dates for the Medical Examination will be notified on the KEA website, kea.kar.nic.in shortly.

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2024 is a state-level entrance examination, conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The KCET 2024 exam was held on the 18th and 19th of April. Biology and Mathematics are conducted on the 18th of April whereas Physics and Chemistry are conducted on the 19th of April respectively. The KCET 2024 Exam Results will be released on May 20, 2024. The candidates can download their results from the official website.

Medical Examination for Physically Disabled Candidates

Below are the instructions and guidelines for Medical Examination for Physically Disabled Candidates:

  • The candidates claiming reservation under this category will be required to appear for the Medical examination before a Committee comprising the Executive Director, KEA as Chairman, and three specialists from the Department of Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and ENT, nominated by the Government.
  • The Candidates with a physical disability ranging above 40% should produce a Medical certificate issued by a competent Doctor of any Government Hospital located in the State of Karnataka in the field of concerned disability, only on the day of the Medical examination.
  • The Candidates suffering from hearing disability should compulsorily produce a BSER (Brain Stem Evoked Response) latest PTA + BERA Audiometry report obtained (preferably not later than one year) from All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore / NIMHANS, Bangalore / Manipal Hospital / Government Speech and Hearing Institute, Lingarajapuram, Bangalore.
  • The Medical Board will examine the candidate and certificate and certify the percentage of disability and the decision of the Medical Board is final.
  • Candidates with a disability of less than 40% will not be eligible to claim a seat under the Physically Disabled category. 
  • The candidates claiming under the Physically Disabled Special category quota should appear for medical examination only at the KEA Office in BANGALORE.
  • The Physically Disabled candidates, who fail to appear before the Committee for Medical examination, will not be eligible to be considered for allotment of seat under the Physically Disabled category.
