What is the difference in rank between 150 marks in JEE Mains percentile and 100 marks in JEE Mains Percentile
The difference in rank between 150 marks and 100 marks in the JEE Main is quite significant due to the competitive nature of the entrance exam. It is to be noted that a score of around 150 marks is equivalent to around 96-97 percent. This would result in an expected rank between 30,000 and 40,000.
On the other hand, a score of around 100 marks would result in an expected rank between 90,000 and 1,20,000 due to a percentile of around 89-91 percent. This means that the rank difference between these two marks would be around 60,000 to 80,000 ranks.
It is to be noted that even though there is a mark difference of only 50 between these two marks, the impact on rank is quite significant due to the large number of students present in this section of marks.
What is the difference in rank between 90 marks in JEE Mains percentile and 80 marks in JEE Mains Percentile
The difference in the ranks for a score of 90 and 80 is also noticeable, though not as drastic as for higher scores. A score of 90 generally corresponds to a percentile of 90-91, which generally corresponds to a rank between 80,000 and 1,00,000. On the other hand, a score of 80 generally corresponds to a percentile of 84-86, which generally corresponds to a rank between 1,20,000 and 1,50,000.
This gives a difference in ranks of 30,000 to 50,000. A difference of 10 marks in this range will definitely improve your percentile and increase your chances of securing better colleges, especially in state-level counseling and lower NIT branches.
