KEAM Counselling 2025: Stray Round (Ongoing), Dates, Fee Details, Documents Required

CAT 2025 Registration Started

CEE Kerala conducted KEAM Counselling 2025 for engineering admissions in three main rounds. Any vacancies that remained in Government and Aided colleges after the third allotment are being filled through spot admissions overseen by the Director of Technical Education. For all other colleges, the task of filling leftover seats falls upon the respective institutions, which do so through their own stray round procedures.

Students are eligible for KEAM Counselling 2025 if their names are included in the official KEAM 2025 rank lists for Engineering, Architecture, BPharm, Medical, Medical Allied, or Ayurveda courses. Centralised (CAP) counselling is carried out in an online mode. However, the separate Stray round admissions are held offline. For those applicants lacking personal internet access, the government provides free facilitation centres across Kerala to assist with registration and option entry.

KEAM Counselling 2025 is a multi-phase centralized allotment process for admissions to undergraduate courses in engineering, pharmacy, architecture, and related fields. CEE Kerala conducts it except for the KEAM 2025 stray round seat allotment, which involves some offline procedures in specific colleges across Kerala. Candidates first qualify through the KEAM entrance exam or via direct entry for particular streams. They then participate in counselling rounds, which involve registration, filling in their preferred college and course choices, seat allotment based on merit and availability, and final reporting with fee payment.

What is KEAM Counselling 2025?

The KEAM Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) operates through an entirely online Single Window System, enabling candidates to secure seats in various Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, and Medical courses offered by colleges across Kerala. Seat assignments are determined by the candidate’s submitted preferences, position in the merit list, and any applicable reservation policies.

KEAM Counselling 2025 Process

KEAM Counselling 2025: Option Registration: Candidates seeking admission through KEAM 2025 can register their choices only via the official portal at cee.kerala.gov.in. After logging into the candidate portal, students can select courses and colleges in order of preference, either within a single stream or across multiple streams, depending on their qualification. All options must be submitted online; entries sent through fax, post, or by hand are not considered for allotment.

Pay the Option Registration Fee: Candidates must pay the option registration fee for all engineering courses to confirm their options.

Category of Candidates Registration Fee Adjustment / Refund Rule
All candidates registering options for admission (all courses or specific courses) INR  2000/- Adjusted the tuition fee if the candidate takes admission after allotment
Candidates registering afresh for Engineering & Architecture courses who got allotment in previous phases but did not take admission INR  2000/- Adjusted the tuition fee if the candidate takes admission after allotment
SC/ST/OEC candidatesINR  500/- Adjusted the caution deposit on admission
All candidates who do not get any allotment As paid (INR 2000/- or INR 500/- depending on category) Entire Registration Fee refunded

KEAM 2025 Trial Allotment: A trial allotment is conducted to help candidates gauge their chances of securing admission to their desired program or college under the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). This preliminary allotment, held before the actual deadline for option registration in the first phase, offers a preview of possible seat outcomes based on the submitted options and the candidate’s rank. However, the trial allotment result does not guarantee a seat in any specific college or course.

KEAM 2025 Seat Allotment: After the option registration window closes, the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations publishes the official seat allotment results for all courses on its website. Candidates can print their allotment memo from the portal, which details the assigned college and specifies the fee that must be paid for the allotted seat. Further information and updates are announced through notifications released by CEE.

KEAM 2025 Seat Confirmation Fee Payment: Applicants assigned a seat must remit the specified fee at the designated college, as per the CEE’s notification. If a candidate fails to pay the required amount or does not join the college/stream as instructed, both the seat allotted and any existing options for that stream will be forfeited and cannot be reclaimed in subsequent counselling rounds.

KEAM 2025 Final Admission and Reporting: Candidates who have paid the necessary charges and received an allotment should report to their respective institutions as per the schedule laid out by CEE. Those who do not complete the admission process as instructed will lose their allotted seat and all options for that stream in future phases. Admission fees established by the concerned university must also be paid at the time of joining.

KEAM 2025 Stray Rounds

The stray vacancy allotment is held to fill open seats in Government and Aided Engineering colleges. Candidates listed in the rank list published by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and meeting the eligibility criteria, are eligible to participate. This includes candidates who have already secured admission in Government, Aided, Private Self-Financing, or Government Cost-sharing colleges during previous counselling rounds. Additionally, candidates who have not joined after an allotment, those who have obtained transfer certificates after admission, and those who have yet to receive any allotment can participate in the KEAM 2025 stray rounds.

KEAM Counselling 2025 Post Seat Allotment

  • Once seats have been allotted, candidates must log into their KEAM accounts and download the allotment memo.
  • Next, the fee specified in the allotment memo should be paid by the deadline, either through online methods or at designated Head Post Offices, as per the instructions from the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Suppose a candidate fails to pay the required fee and report to the allotted college within the prescribed timeframe, the seat will be forfeited, along with any other remaining choices for that particular stream. In that case, these options cannot be reclaimed in later phases.
  • Document Verification: The responsibility of verifying the authenticity of the documents and certificates presented by candidates during admission lies with the Principal or Head of the college or institution. Additionally, the concerned University is tasked with reviewing the records of admitted candidates by deploying specialized teams, which must submit a report to the Government within 10 days of the final seat allotment deadline.
  • Admission Fee Payment: Candidates who fail to pay the prescribed tuition fee or do not complete the admission process within the specified deadlines will forfeit their allotted seats, as well as any other options associated with that particular stream.
  • The fee structures for various courses offered by Government and Aided colleges are determined periodically by the Government, while self-financing institutions publish their fee details separately. Updated fee structures and a list of private self-financing colleges offering additional fee concessions are made publicly available on the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations before the start of the CAP 2025 counselling process.

KEAM Counselling for Subsequent Phases of Allotment

Candidates who hold valid options and wish to participate in the second or subsequent allotment rounds must log into their Option Registration Page and confirm their choices by clicking the ‘Confirm’ button available there. Only after confirming their options can candidates delete unwanted options or rearrange the priority of existing options.

Online option confirmation is a compulsory step before each phase of KEAM seat allotment to be eligible for that allotment stage. The option confirmation facility is activated on the official website before each allotment phase.

  • Suppose a candidate does not confirm their higher preference options by clicking the ‘Confirm’ button. In that case, those higher-priority options related to courses in that allotment phase will be automatically removed and will not be available for later rounds.

Following each allotment, all options ranked lower than the allotted seat are automatically deleted from the candidate’s list.

  • Candidates who accept an allotment but do not wish to be considered for their remaining options may cancel those unused options entirely or selectively by stream. They can also rearrange the priorities of remaining options after confirmation. However, adding new options beyond the original registration is not permitted.

These option management features — confirmation, cancellation, deletion, and rearrangement — are available only during a specified timeframe announced by the authorities. After the window closes, the facility is withdrawn. Candidates retaining any options after an allotment round are required to accept any subsequent allotment that results from those options. Failure to accept a given allotment results in loss of all previously allotted seats and current options within that stream.
