TNEA Counselling Eligibility Criteria
Students applying for TNEA Counselling must fulfill the following criteria:
- Candidates must be Tamil Nadu Natives
- Non-native candidates are eligible if they have studied in Tamil Nadu Schools from Classes 8 to 12. Â
- Children of All India Service Officers in Tamil Nadu also qualify for Counselling.
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- General Category students must have obtained 45% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation is provided to the reserved category students.
- Candidates must be born on or after July 01, 2004.Â

This is the TNEA counselling registration fees paid online through tneaonline.org. OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DNC category candidates need to pay INR 500 as registration charges. While SC/SCA/ST of Tamil Nadu needs to pay INR 250 for registration.Â
Seat Acceptance Fee
After the seats are allotted as per the rank list and the choices of students. Students need to pay a seat acceptance fee, which confirms the seat to be booked. TNEA Counselling Rank List

The ranks are based on the normalized cutoff marks derived from the Class 12 PCM marks. The TNEA Rank calculation is done based on a formula of Mathematics marks + Physics Marks / 2 + Chemistry marks / 2. The final cutoff marks are scaled to 200 after normalization is done.
